The Development Bank disbursed the sixth tranche of EUR 19,4 million to intermediary banks for 43 approved projects from the credit line for investment and development of domestic private companies. The funds from this tranche are intended for projects of 5 micro, 22 small, 7 medium, and 9 large companies. 17,6 million euros are allocated for investments in buildings and equipment, 1,5 million euros for investments in renewable energy sources, while 252,3 thousand euros are allocated for investments in transport vehicles. The majority of the funds are aimed at financing 30 projects of companies with predominantly production and trade activities.

With this tranche, the Development Bank has so far disbursed a total of 190,6 million euros to intermediary banks out of the planned 250 million euros intended to support the economy through the credit line for investment and development, financing 682 projects of domestic companies.

Through a joint initiative with the Government, the Development Bank of North Macedonia, and local commercial banks, EIB Global has supported 120 companies with financing for 150 green projects - from solar panels and energy-efficient upgrades to advanced recycling technologies.

Part of the success stories include the following companies:
Vitaminka – Macedonian food company, installs solar panels,
LTH Learnica (LTH Casting) – car parts producer, enhances the automation to cut emissions and increase productivity,
Dema Stil – toy manufacturer from Kriva Palanka, reduces energy consumption,
Otpad Ohrid – wastemill company from Ohrid, increasing its recycling capacity thanks to new machinery,
Kiro Dandaro Printing House – modernising printing and packaging processes towards more efficient, productive, and greener production,
Bucen Kozjak – dairy producer from Kumanovo, modernizes the production processes,
Hotel Pamela – expanding modern hospitality offer in Negotino,
Dental Craft – dental office and laboratory from Skopje gets sophisticated prosthetics equipment.

These efforts are not only reducing emissions and supporting Climate Action, but also creating jobs and strengthening the local economy.

Who are we?

The Development Bank of North Macedonia is a development bank that is 100% owned by the Republic of North Macedonia. It was founded in 1998 with the primary goal of supporting domestic micro, small, medium, and export-oriented trading companies and strengthening the competitiveness of the Macedonian economy. The bank supports domestic companies through direct and intermediated lending, short-term insurance of the export of Macedonian products and services against commercial and political risks, domestic factoring and export factoring with recourse, as well as issuing guarantees.
